Formations such as condensation, frost and ice buildup happen due to water vapor penetrating through cracks or opening from the outside. This damage creates panel joint separation and swelling, which leads to poor performance and energy use. This shortens the lifespan of the walk-in.
As damage increases operating costs for walk-in coolers and freezers, batten strips combat this challenge. Batten Strips are a cost-effective and straightforward solution for any deterioration of a walk-in.
A batten strip’s purpose is to defend walk-ins from developing condensation, ice in joint spaces, and vapor infiltration. They are a protective barrier engineered to not only reinsulate and reseal joints but also extend longevity by improving the effects and appearance of the damaged panels.
Offering a simple solution, battens can reseal any joint on your walk-in. They can be mounted internally or externally; however, an external application is most effective in keeping warm air and condensation out of the walk-in’s joints.Offering a simple solution, battens can reseal any joint on your walk-in. Battens are created with a 26-gauge metal strip and expanded polystyrene (EPS) foam, providing an extra layer of insulation to panel joints. They are available in white or natural metal color and come in standard widths and lengths. All batten strips come in 10-foot-long pieces. Ceiling or wall battens measure roughly five inches wide and interior corner battens and base battens measure roughly three inches wide.
All batten strips are cut to size and installed on site.
Batten strips help restore damaged seams, reduce panel separation and improve the appearance of existing walk-ins. Tell us about your project, and our team will help identify the right walk-in repair solution.
